Ardoe House Wedding / Joanna + Jordan
Every once in a while you get to capture the wedding of childhood sweethearts. It's amazing really when you think about it. These two persons have grown up together, and by tying the knot they commit to grow old together too. Wow!
And that adventure currently sees them living in Abu Dhabi with their two beautiful daughters. It was quite the homecoming for their wedding day at Ardoe House. Over one hundred guests in attendance amongst an air of genuine excitement.
The moment Joanna walked with her proud father down the long aisle epitomised the tension and emotion around the room. As she reached Jordan at the 'altar' it was the first time I had seen them together. These two are meant to be, that was clear.
Sunshine made the afternoon fly-by. Guests sprawled inside and out, sharing banter and drinks. Whilst photographer, Simon Clubb, did an awesome job of keeping the atmosphere light throughout the family & bridal photoshoot.
On to the wedding speeches. Wow! Absolutely knocked out the park by all. Joanna's dad gave us some stories on the couple's early days. Jordan told us of his feelings for his new wife and how lucky they were. And the two best men juggled laugh-out-loud tales with some deeply touching words on Jordan's late mum. There was not a dry eye in the room, myself included.
Choosing the song for the first dance can be a daunting task for any couple. Jordan and Joanna got it spot on with Bob Marley's "Is This Love". Such a happy feel-good song that suited the smiles they both wore all day long. To answer Bob's question - yes, this is love that I am seeing.
All my best wishes to you all!
Highlight of the day - Jordan getting down on one knee and 'proposing' during his wedding speech to Joanne > making amends for how the real proposal went down.
