Aswanley Wedding / Elizabeth + Stuart
I didn't get the chance to meet Elizabeth and Stuart prior to the big day - busy schedules, distance, etc. But within two minutes of turning up to filming the bridal prep we were having a blast. Elizabeth is so funny! The morning was full of banter with her two bridesmaids. When it came to tying the bride in her dress I could barely hold the camera straight for laughing. They had poor Elizabeth bracing against the wall as they pulled the straps mightily hard, time and time again. Cinderella is def going to the ball!
At Aswanley we were set for an outdoor ceremony. But boy did the heavens open. Indoors it is then...
Brenda Reid always conducts her ceremonies in a confident and informal way. Allowing the couple and guests to relax, engage, and enjoy. That was topped off nicely with a tune on the fiddle, written for the bride + groom, by one of their friends.
My favourite moment on a wedding day is the craziness that sometimes ensures after the ceremony. Guests offering congratulations, throwing confetti, sharing kind words. It might not sound crazy, but it happens in a flutter amongst a mob of folk. There's only a few minutes to capture these candid and real moments - it's a challenge and an honour to be in amongst it filming. Luckily, the sun came out at the right time to make it happen for Elizabeth + Stuart.
With the ceremony being at 3pm, it wasn't long before the bride and groom were piped in to greet their guests for the wedding meal. The speeches were very enjoyable, with a slideshow setup to compliment the best man's speech.
Kick-ass ceilidh band Iron Broo did an awesome job of getting everyone up onto the dancefloor, with the guests getting a fair workout in the process!
My best wishes to you both!
Highlight of the day - Elizabeth and the two bridesmaids outside in the rain + wind running towards the venue, laughing their asses off.
