Banff Springs Wedding / Irene + Kevin

Having known Irene through the wedding industry for many years, I was chuffed when she booked us for her big day. Not only have I seen her band Glitz perform at many weddings, I’ve also done some filming work for them for promotional use.

She’s such an outgoing, fun personality to be around - always smiling and full of energy. But at the same time down to earth and caring. Filming her wedding wedding was not work, it was such a pleasure.

Kevin compliments her well - the missing pieces of the puzzle that make each other complete. Throughout the wedding day he just couldn't stop smiling. It’s not often that we see genuine happiness, but everyone could see it in the bride + groom.

In the morning at Irene’s folks’ house we were having a blast. The girls were having such a laugh ‘round the kitchen table, the sun was shining in through the back door, the music was terrible though! And of course, the family dog seemed confused as anything.

Onto the Banff Springs, Kevin was nervous but excited. Greeting guests, getting the buttonholes attached (by Graeme of Elite Photographics), and awaiting Irene’s arrival.

She smiled and laughed exiting the car as graceful as one can try, and receiving her bouquet from dad. One last touch up at the vestibule, and now the time had come.

Irene and dad slowly walked down the aisle, taking in the moment. From the ceremony we learned how the couple met, as teachers at the same school. And they confidently exchanged vows and rings, before sealing their union with a kiss.

Plenty of horseshoes and group photos followed whilst the guests enjoyed a drink or two from the bar. Smiles and hugs aplenty were exchanged as the newlyweds greeted their guests in the traditional receiving line.

Five speeches from the top table gave us some inside stories, a few jokes, and plenty of well wishes and laughter too.

And my favourite part of the day - the dancing!

Kevin chose the first dance song, ‘Always’ by Erasure. What a perfect choice. Such a classic feel-good song.

Irene was in her element on the dance floor, singing along to every song the band played, twirling in her dress amongst close friends and family. Great moments and memories (and footage).

My deepest wishes to you both, such a privilege to be involved!
