Drumtochty Castle Wedding / Natalie + Adam
Nowadays I usually get to meet clients once, if not twice before the big day. It definitely helps create a better connection. But alas Natalie + Adam hail from bonnie Yorkshire, so a phone call with poor signal sufficed instead.
It's pretty awesome that they chose to marry in a Scottish castle. Aside from the whole fairytale aspect, horse + carriage included, there was more significance involved. Adam popped the question on top of a Scottish hill, with champagne and dog in toe. From then on they're story would forever be connected to our beautiful country.
And when I first met Natalie in person she even looked Scottish! We all just loved her long, autumnal red hair. I couldn't find Adam for ages, pretty sure he was playing hide and seek. Eventually caught up with him when he was getting ready. So I spent the rest of the morning getting to know the guests - one of the bonuses of covering a more intimate wedding.
The weather requires it's own paragraph. It rained continually throughout the day, heavy too. It provided some dramatic footage of people running, umbrellas unleashed, and 'paparazzi' style dashes in and out of cars (and carriages!). But you know what? After dinner the sun came out, and the photographers finally go to explore some of the grounds of Drumtochty. Hats off to the heavily pregnant Karolina, she showed great energy and creative skills. Do check out her beatiful pics from the day.
My favourite part of the day was the evening. When in a Scottish castle for your wedding there's only one thing for it - a ceilidh! It was great seeing the guests get involved in the alien dances, with sweat dripping, heartbeats pounding, arms flailing. But most importantly smiles and laughter aplenty.
Natalie + Adam, it was such an honour to meet you both (and your family + friends), and even more so to be involved in your unique day. My best wishes!
