Fasque House Wedding / Helen + Richard
Helen + Richard's wedding represents a milestone for me in a few different ways. Firstly, it marks ten years of being in business - yay! But more importantly we've come full circle having filmed the wedding of Steph + Lee back in 2011, where Helen was a bridesmaid! And in the intervening years we captured many of her friend's weddings - Lynzi + Kevin, Martin + Isla, David + Lisa, Kirsty + Drew. It's been such a privilege getting to know this group of close friends, and seeing them grow into wee families!
When Helen + Richard came to visit the studio shortly before the wedding day it became quickly evident that these two are meant to be together. They are both warm, caring souls who like to a have a laugh. And when the big day came they both showed no signs of nerves - I think I was more nervous than they were!
Family and friends mean a lot to them both so it was good to get some footage of them hanging out, sharing their excitement with those closest to them. And what better place to do that than in the grandeur of Fasque House. The weather wasn't playing ball, but with the stunning staircase to base the photoshoot from it didn't really matter.
The speeches were really funny with Richard and his brothers taking it in turns to entertain us all. And the ceilidh dancing was worth staying back to cover - some great moments in there!
It was a fairly long drive home, any drive home is long after a twelve hour day! I must confess dropping into McDonalds at Bridge of Don for a quick bite before completing the journey back to Maud.
To the happy couple, I wish you both all the best!
