Pittodrie House Wedding / Hayley + Scott
This has got to be the most excited bride + groom I've ever had the pleasure of spending the day with. In the morning there was just no sign of nerves, just giddy excitement. Hayley and her bridesmaid/sister Megan were like two kids on Xmas morning, especially Megan who just couldn't sit still. It made for a fun bridal preparation along with Michelle Reid and Tracey Cepeda knocking it out of the park with their hair styling + make-up skills!
When I headed downstairs to meet Scott I was expecting to meet a nervous groom. Instead he was also in that 'Xmas morning' buzz, telling me he just can't wait to see Hayley walking down the aisle.
During the ceremony they just couldn't stop looking at each other and smiling. It was downright cute! Hayley got a little bit choked during her vows, but managed to keep it going. And of course they sealed it off with a warm embrace - sending their happiness around the room!
My favourite moment of any and every wedding day is those candid congratulations that follow shortly after the service. It's pure joy and love being expressed in front of the candid camera. It's a rare euphoria that we seldom experience in our lifetimes, and for me, complete gold dust moments.
Father of the bride, Craig, said some beautiful words about what Haley meant to him. And now that I have a daughter of my own, I can relate to the things he said and how he felt. Scott delivered a great speech, telling us how lucky he felt to be the guy who has Hayley as his wife. And best man, Sean, rounded it off with some stories about the stag/hen weekends, and crowning our bride + groom as 'tag team' champions - complete with wrestling belts!
Splash got the dance floor jumping from the get go, with barely any respite during the first hour. Before I said my goodbyes I managed to get a bag of pick n mix, which definitely helped with the 40-minute drive home.
My best wishes to the two happiest people in the North-East!
