Saplinbrae Wedding / Sacha + Ross
It's not everyday that you get to film two former schoolmates tie the knot. It's not everyday that I get to film a wedding at a venue that's just 5mins from my house (which is owned by a former schoolmate). And it's not often that a former bride (and again schoolmate) makes the wedding cake. The class of '95 - an eye watering 22 years later - was representing!
Time's a funny thing. Sometimes it's ticking past so slow. And other times it's speeding in a flash. But for this day my job it to capture and bottle time for reference and reflection. Hopefully and often Sacha + Ross, and the two boys, will enjoy their wedding video for a long time to come.
The weather treated us to some sunshine, which was more than we expected after the snowfall earlier in the week. There were nerves in both camps during the morning preps, but when Sacha walked done the aisle an air of calm came with her. For as long as I can remember she's always had a great smile and laugh - completed by her stunning wedding gown.
They both read their vows, held hands, looked into each other eyes, and sealed their union with a tender embrace. The afternoon was relaxed and fun, with me moving back and forth from the snug bar to the front garden for the photoshoot. My fav moment of the day was when they returned from their romantic photoshoot, getting out of the car. I was at the front vestibule and captured her son Kian watching them from the window - loved it!
After the speeches the new Mr and Mrs Higgins treated my wife and I to a lovely meal in the lounge. Both the food and service were top class! We're definitely coming back - Rebecca loves a good duck spring roll!
Sacha + Ross look so good together, they make a perfect match. They have a great foundation, two lovely boys in Kian and Jacob, have settled into their new family home, and have a great future in front of them to enjoy.
All my best to you all!
